Testnet Wallets

Welcome to the BeyondFaucet blog! In this post, we will explore the many available cryptocurrency wallets with Testnet support. We will be mainly covering the coins that are currently available on the faucet which include the testnets of: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Groestlcoin, and Bitcoin Cash.

Wallets are a fundamental part of the crypto ecosystem as they allow for users to store their cryptos, and in our case, allow developers to store testnet coins for testing applications, exploring multiple networks, trying out projects, and many other things all without using real funds in case something goes wrong. Sure, you have your core wallets, but they require you to download the entire blockchain or a portion of it to be able to have a wallet. It's kind of like how you carry a wallet, and, in that wallet, you might have cash or a credit card. Instead of having to carry the entire bank’s ledger to be able to make a credit purchase, you can use a credit card which connects to the bank. Crypto wallets work in a similar way in that they allow you to store your crypto and allow you to hold your keys (in non-custodial wallets) without the need to download the entire blockchain to send a transaction as they connect to another node via an API. We do recommend core wallets if you’re able to download the blockchain as they are usually the most secure radially available wallet regarding being able to verify your transaction and send it out to other nodes more securely than a 3rd party wallet. Also, a disclaimer, we haven't performed any audits on the wallets listed and these are just suggestions as they have been tried and tested.
